My research interest concerns the development of functional devices for pharmaceutical, biological and medical applications through the exploitation of micro- and nanotechnologies, and their combination with biological materials (cell membranes, cells, cell aggregates, etc.). In the past years, I have initiated 4 research topics, where microfluidics is utilized for (i) single cell analysis, (ii) experimentation on microtissues, (iii) embryo culture and characterization, and (iv) experimentation on membrane proteins reconstituted in a lipid bilayer matrix.
